Fire, Newmarket Street, Woodstock @ 07:16 on the 9th August 2024. Our monitoring centre received multiple activations from a premises. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported a fire had started on the third floor of the building. The fire department were already on scene.

House Break In & Theft, Hastings Street, Tamboerskloof @ 20:38 on the 9th August 2024. Our monitoring centre received a call reporting a property was being burgled. AR was dispatched and on arrival met another armed response company on site as well. Together the property was checked and a suspect was apprehended. Two other suspects managed to evade the armed response. SAPS were dispatched and the suspect was taken into custody. Entry had been gained through the roof of the property.

Armed Robbery, Pinoak Road, Vredehoek @ 01:04 on the 10th August 2024. Our monitoring centre received an alarm activation from a premises and the AR was dispatched. On arrival the AR met the client who confirmed a robbery had occurred. The intruders gained entry into the premises by climbing over the back fence and breaking a back window. They confronted the residents’ and robbed them of their cell phones and jewellery amongst other items. A female was attacked and beaten with sticks sustaining injuries to her hands and arms. The intruders then fled out the back window. A search was conducted of the area but no suspects could be located. SAPS and Emergency Services were in attendance.

House Break In & Theft, Varsity Road, Tamboerskloof @ 12:09 on the 10th August 2024. Our monitoring centre received a call from a client’s managing agent reporting their premises had been burgled. No alarm signals were received and the client is currently out of the country. When arriving at the premises the managing agent found the lock not working and called a locksmith. The locksmith arrived and upon opening the door they discovered the burglary. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported access was gained through the roof behind the chimney. The intruders had ripped the alarm panel apart hence no signals and the CCTV system was damaged and removed. It was unclear as to what was stolen as all the cupboards had been opened in every room. The managing agent stated the keys to the garage and two vehicles had been removed. Both vehicles – an Audi A3 and a Land Cruiser 300 were still parked in the garage on the premises. A guard was requested and posted at the premises. SAPS were informed.

Theft of Motor Vehicles, Varsity Road, Tamboerskloof @ 20:15 on the 10th August 2024. Our monitoring centre received a call stating the security guard that was placed on a property earlier due to a break in, had reported that a suspicious looking double cab Toyota Hilux bakkie had driven up and down the road a few times before stopping in front of the premises. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported as per the security guard the suspects had returned and stolen the two vehicles from the garage – the Audi A3 and a Landcruiser 300. The vehicles were tracked heading toward Somerset West. Law enforcement were informed and a shooting ensued between SAPS and the suspects when intercepted. The suspects were arrested and both vehicles were recovered.

House Break In & Theft, Wesley Street, Gardens @ 23:10 on the 10th August 2024. Our monitoring centre received an alarm activation and the main key holder requested armed response as the premises was vacant. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported that a break in had occurred. Entry was gained through a window. The key holder was informed but could not come out. The other key holders were contacted but there was no answer. Messages and an email were sent to the client to contact the control centre urgently.

House Break In & Theft, Jordaan Street, Bo-Kaap @ 05:49 on the 14th August 2024. Our monitoring centre received multiple alarm activations from a premises. The client confirmed all in order and stated they would call back if the armed response was needed. A few minutes later the client called and requested the armed response to go and check the property to verify if everything was in order. AR was dispatched. As the AR stopped at the premises, two tall males wearing dark clothing came running from inside the premises with equipment in their hands. The front doors of the premises had been forced open. When they noticed the armed response, they dropped the stolen goods and ran into the informal settlement across the road. AR gave chase but the suspects managed to evade the officer in the built-up area. After the officer secured the premises, he discovered a White Hyundai I10 vehicle parked outside the premises. It had probably been used by suspects as a getaway vehicle. The vehicle was locked but the officer could see laptops, screw drivers, crowbars, and large bags in the vehicle. He also noticed other number plates on the back seat of the vehicle and some drug paraphernalia. The client arrived and confirmed a computer monitor that was dropped as the suspects fled belonged to their business. Nothing else seemed to be missing. SAPS were in attendance regarding the break in and the abandoned vehicle.
