CBAR Newsflash – 30 April 2021

Dear Valued CBAR clients,

As an area bound Security Service Provider, we at CBAR closely monitor the criminal activity in our area of operation.

We have again taken note that the crime along the border of Table Mountain National Park has increased.  This is not a new phenomenon, as there are times where it peaks proceeded by less active periods.

For the past few months there has been a resurgence in property intrusions along the fence line, especially in the Devils Peak, Highlands part of Vredehoek and Higgovale areas.

We would like to encourage all our clients especially those residing along the Table Mountain border to please ensure that your alarm systems are armed; particularly when you are asleep as the active times of these criminals is roughly between midnight and 4am.

Check that all outdoor detectors are fully functional and that you have sufficient coverage of your property.

Outdoor sensors do require servicing and with winter approaching should be checked that the devices and lenses are not going to leak.  These detection devices are expensive to replace and a service call to check and test your alarm and its components is far cheaper than replacing corroded detectors.

If you would like to have an assessment to install CCTV as a further level of security, please contact colin@citybowlsecurity.co.za or call 0860 151515.

**Please Note**

CBAR has had a few calls over the past week with regard to movement around property, where clients have seen or heard intruders.  Ensure that your panic buttons are working at all times and that they are distributed at key areas in your homes.  Regular inspections of your property line are encouraged, especially where you have palisade, mesh or electrified fencing.  Any noticeable tampering or damage to your fence could indicate a possible attempted break-in.  Please inform CBAR monitoring centre if such a discovery is made.

It greatly assists our Armed Reaction Officers if there is good lighting around your perimeter and also acts as a deterrent if there is movement sensitive lighting installed, especially in vulnerable areas.

Kindly do not hesitate to push your panic button or call our 24 hour emergency number on 0860 151515 if you believe there to be any activity on your property that may concern you.  Our team has been sensitized to the crime pattern and is ready to assist you.
